Storyfarm Original Films

Silent Cinema

Storyfarm is best known for its short silent films. Silent cinema can say

things that a language based film often can't.  To view these films, you'll

need to have QuickTime (a free download) installed on your computer.

*NOTE: Downloading the current version of QuickTime solves most playback issues.

 Modern Life   - 6 minutes

Modern Life is a contemporary silent film that tells the story of a young

couple whose now is slipping away, and some peculiar things that happen

each night while they sleep.  It has won the San Francisco Int'l Film Festival's

Golden Gate Award and a few others for best short film and best editing, and

is on both RES and iFilm's Best Short Films DVD collections.

  Fine Dining  - 7 minutes 30 seconds

A homeless waif stumbles upon a parallel hobo universe, an exagerated world

that mirrors our own, with surrealistic accuracy. Fine Dining is built on an original

piano score, and shot on 35mm color film with an antique, hand-cranked camera.

No electricity was used in its production. This film won best short at the Moondance

Film Festival and was also featured at the Mill Valley Film Festival.

   Violin   - 7 minutes 50 seconds

The town sweeper has a secret life, a new talent, and a very strange lover.

Shot on location in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico, an original piano score

provides the emotional dialog in this unusual retelling of an ancient tale.

   Lucid   - 7 minutes 30 seconds

 "I need to explore the terrain of my sexual subconscious, without getting in a lot

of trouble!" The tale of a very modern dream girl, featuring Denzil J. Meyers and

Rosy Moon, with HD cinematography by Pablo 2000. Not silent, just telepathic.

   The Eye of Rudra   - 9 minute trailer

The Eye of Rudra is an 85 minute documentary about San Francisco underground "chaos culture"

and the tremendous effort, crazy chutzpah, and heroic foolishness it took to mount a one-time

performance of an opera involving over 300 participants. Greek chorus by Speed Levitch. Music

by Piki Chappell.
